The Rose Bowl Aquatics Center in Pasadena is a fantastic facility for swimmers of all levels. The pools are clean and well-maintained, providing a refreshing experience. The staff is friendly and accommodating, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment. With a range of amenities, including diving platforms and a fitness center, there's something for everyone. The picturesque location adds to the overall charm of the center. Whether you're a serious athlete or simply looking for a place to relax and swim, the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center is a wonderful choice.
One of a few places has an Olympic size pool. There are two Olympic size pools, one is mainly used for competitive swimming, the other for classes and recreation. It's relatively busy throughout the day, very busy during the prime hour (early morning, after school), many swim, water polo, diving, aqua aerobic, therapy programs, etc. are offered for all ages, but mostly for kids.
I think the rate here is reasonable, monthly/annual pass, classes and lessons. A day pass for recreational pool is $2-$3, which only allows to swim in a small area, shallow end of the recreational pool. This is more for parents play with little kids, not for swim practice with kick boards or other water toys which are not allowed. A day pass for swimming is $15+ (raised the rates recently, please check the website), which allow to swim at lap swim lane either Olympic or recreational pool during the public lap swim hour.
The water temperature is consistent, Olympic pool, 78-80F. The recreation pool is very warm at 82 to 86F. The recreational pool often closes due to contamination at last minute with no prior notice. It happens usually during the summer break, when there are many young kids in the swim lessons.
If I remember correctly, the make-up policy for missing classes only with doctor's note. No other excuses like vacation are accepted. When the pool is closed due to unexpected contamination or maintenance, automatic make-up or credit.
A small pro shop at the location, it's convenient, but watch that all items are NO REFUND, some items even NO RETURN. No warning or no inform to customers about their policy in advance.
A holiday visit to get my lap swimming. Professional and long hours. Reliable. A bit pricey but open when many are closed.
Bring your kids here to swim and improve to a competing level or parents can just come here to swim when time allows. This place has been around for a long time so feel safe bringing your kids here. Overall would recommend it. For some it may be pricy but well worth the money if you want your kids to get interested in something other than just gaming. These pictures were taken in late November 2021 and the water was heated at 8AM hence the steamy pool.
I'm a General Contractor and my company is at InnovativeConstructions.US. I try to provide information to anyone who can use it. Hope they help. Maybe let me know your thoughts.
Huge pools with lots of staff. Swimming lessons look like fun! The student/teacher ratio was great. A very busy place.
This what a pool would be if it was run by the fussiest person from the fussiest HOA. The rec swim (ostensibly short for recreation, which I think the namer did not understand) does not allow toys (rubber ducks I mean, not giant rings), floaties, jumping, diving, or any other kind of recreation. You may only swim with a serious expression and a serious demeanor. Zere vil be no fun except ze fun of a nice, orderly, fascist svim
Swimming pool for all ages: babies to seniors.
